Going on the World Race is a once-in-a-life-time, crazy, wonderful, absolutely amazing God filled experience. He shows up in astounding ways in our personal lives, in the lives of others and throughout our teams and squad. We get to see parts of the world few get to experience, be the hands and feet of Jesus, bring the Good News and sometimes even witness miracles. We get to share stories, join in on people’s stories, laugh and cry with some of the coolest people, and we get to introduce them, sometimes for the first time, to our favorite person: Jesus.

But… it’s not all puppies and rainbows. Even if you’re “built for this” and couldn’t see yourself doing anything else… Some days on the Race are just plain hard.

For example: some days… All you want is some good ol’ American Food…

And some days, you could have had it but messed it up…

And some days, it’s not even the food that’s a mess… It’s just you.

Sometimes God asks you to deal with things waaayyyyy beyond your maturity level.

Some days you truly won’t be in the best mood, upset your team and have to do something to make up for you inexcusable actions (because you do have to live with them EVERYDAY).

And when you are being a soldier for God, you are bound to get attacked.

But **DO NOT FEAR** there are some things you can do to cheer yourself (or your teammate that’s in a slump) up!

You can have witty arguments over IMPORTANT matters.

You can make an effort to keep up on current events at home.

You can make punny jokes with your teammates and friends back home (This one is my personal favorite).

Or you can just get VERY in touch with your inner child… get excited about EVERYTHING!!

But most importantly, when the going gets tough. Remember, our God is Greater and he called you to this. He chose you! He wants you here! He entrusts you with whatever it is that’s coming your way and He WILL see you through it.

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16- 18
