First… let me apologize for the delay. I wrote this blog literally 3 WEEKS AGO… but things have been crazy busy and I didn’t get around to proof reading until today. Sorry friends!

“Our God is bigger than if you put 3 mountains one on top of the other!”

“Oh, really? What about 5 mountains? Is he bigger than 5?”

“Ummm… no, probably not.”

Updates have been scarce lately due to our lack of wifi in India and our crazy schedule since being here in Nepal, but here is a story I think we could all be inspired by.

Since being here in Kathmandu, we have had the privilege of working with some incredible individuals doing amazing things here. We have gotten to work with kids in the slums, visit women rescued from sex trafficking, work on a women’s center where those women can learn skills to have their own business or find work and make a life outside of where they were coming from, visit the restaurants and bars where these women work and we have even been blessed enough to see one little boy brought out of that situation with hope his mother and another woman will be soon to follow. God is moving in major ways here in Nepal and its been wonderful to be a part of.

This past week, we got to travel to a small village outside of Pokhara, Nepal. It’s idyllic, picturesque place. We climbed mountains, prayed for the land, staking claim in it for the Lord. It was amazing… but on the way there, I got to have one of the most inspiring and challenging conversations I’ve had all year… with a 6 year old.

The trip was long… for him anyway. It took us about 4 hours by bus and he talked to me about EVERYTHING pretty much the whole way. Around half way there, we stopped to get gas. In the parking lot of the gas station, there was a masked person dancing and a group of people playing percussion instruments. Peering our heads over, as soon as my friend figured out what was happening he responded: “They are worshiping idols, we must pray,” and he began praying quietly to himself. As we pulled out of the parking lot, he began talking to me about God…

“Do you know how big our God is!?!? He can perform miracles! He can make anything happen! He can save people! He can bring them to heaven!”

Now, I know these things, but I love hearing kids talk about them. I started to ask questions like: What kind of miracles? What would you ask God to do? How BIG is he really?

“He can heal people! Make them not sick anymore! He loves us so much! He can do ANYTHING!”

I started to think about what I believe and know about God. I started to think about what we preach and how we pray and what we pray for. This little boy KNOWS beyond the shadow of a doubt that God can give him ANYTHING, but what does he pray for? He prays for those worshiping idols. When he prays, he prays for the sick, he prays for those who don’t know him, he prays for protection and healing for those who do, he prays that more would come to know him. Why don’t we all pray this way?

This little boy is going to change the world… do amazing things for the kingdom, and he’s challenged me to know that I … and anyone else can too. All we have to do is believe that our God is a big as he promises he is.
