As I now leave in less than week, I’m starting to feel the weight of truly choosing to live for the Kingdom. Leaving behind all the comforts like my friends and family, my dog, and my church. It’s such an exciting feeling knowing I’m about to meet up with all of my squads mates to radically share the Gospel all around the world, yet the selfish part of me still wants to enjoy some of my American comforts like my bed, fast WiFi, and Chick-fil-A.

I think the beauty of the Race will be to see the Lord move in my team and I without the materialistic things that make us feel comfortable. Growth happens when we learn how to operate through our uncomfortable situations. In our uncomfortable situations, that’s where we will learn to cling on to the Lord!

The past couple of days I’ve been reminded of having a “yes” spirit. The World Race always talks about having a “yes” spirit, yes to doing whatever it takes to share the Gospel. For example, a few weeks ago my team (shoutout to Team Unshakeable!!) found out we will be working with a ministry called Missions Beyond Aviation for our first month in Panama. We will be partnering with them to help build a landing strip and to build a church. Super cool right?!?? I was super excited and then thought “ how on earth are you going build that?” Instantly, I thought about the qualities and skills that I don’t have as I’ve never done construction before. I then heard the Holy Spirit tell me to “just say yes”.

Yes to something that foreign to me

yes to learning a new skill

and yes to something that will push me out of my comfort zone

It instantly changed my perspective to find joy in the idea of learning something new and knowing that I’ll have to lean on the Father for wisdom during the building process.

“And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16

Thanks for reading my ramble fest! I’m still fundraising $2500 to be able to launch with my team August 3. If you feel lead you can donate on this page or reach out to me! Love you all!!!
