Part 1: Thankful on the Daily

I am continually reminded of how much I have to be thankful for.  When keeping my stuff clean is the least of my worries, I am thankful to live out of a backpack and not have a whole room full of stuff to keep organized.  When I go to bed and it’s chilly, I’m thankful for my sleeping bag and a nice inflatable sleeping pad to keep me from the concrete or dirt.

Our tent city for the month! We each have our own little tent house 🙂

When I’m having a rough day but refuse to ask someone to help me process whatever is going on, I’m thankful for teammates who can tell I’m not okay and drag me away to make me process my life.  I am thankful for such a loving, encouraging, and supportive team full of people who remind me that they love me where I’m at regardless of any struggles I may have.  I am thankful for the joyful kids we work with everyday here in Costa Rica who live in the poorest and most dangerous part of the country but enjoy life anyway, not knowing differently.  I am thankful for hikes to the top of mountains to pray over the slum areas where we are living and serving this month.

I am thankful for wifi that is only a 30 minute bus ride away.  I am thankful for showers (even if they’re cold) and toilets that have toilet seats (not as normal as you would think in other countries).  I am thankful for public transportation…..the list goes on and on. A lot of times it’s the little things.

Most recently I am thankful for being FULLY FUNDED!!! Thank you SOOOOO much to everyone who has sacrificed financially to make this opportunity of a lifetime possible.  I am very grateful for this journey and am blessed with so many great friends and family members who are always supportive in any and every way possible.
