I think there is so much to life that we take for granted. We are all guilty of it. Sometimes we complain about the shoes on our feet, when others would love to have any pair of shoes. Sometime we complain about the bed we sleep in, when others sleep on a bare floor every night. Sometimes we complain about the houses we live in, when others call a fifty square foot space home.

What if we woke up today with only the things we thanked God for yesterday? Have you ever thought about that? That question really puts into perspective just how much we take for granted. Did you thank God for your health? Did you thank God for the shoes on your feet? The roof over your head? Your spouse? Your family? Your job? Did you thank God for providing a house for you?

The past few weeks the Lord has been showing me that life can change in the blink of an eye. There is a verse in the bible that says “teach us to number our days.” A few lines before that the verse states how some of us waste our days boasting in only sorrow or labor. That is not what life is about. Life is such a precious and beautiful thing. In the blink of an eye it can change forever, and in the blink of an eye your life can be gone.

Tomorrow we will leave to go into a village about four hours away. We will take a bus most of the way, then we will trek the rest. This village that we are going to has been hit really hard by the earthquake. The pastor said that there are no buildings or homes left there. I am not sure what exactly is in store for us but we will do whatever we can do to help. I know we will be helping to rebuild a church and minister to the people of the village.

There have been aftershocks every day here since arriving. Villages in the surrounding areas have been having landslides and other issues. There is a lack of clean water and rumors that meat should not be eaten. We will be camping in the village till Friday, then we return to Kathmandu for another week of street ministry.

We are heading into an area where people have lost their lives. We are headed to an area where people have lost their homes. These people have nothing left. They do not have beds to sleep on, they have nothing but the clothes on their backs. Everything you take for granted are items that they are lacking.

I ask that you pray for this area. I ask that you pray for our squad. I ask that you pray for our team and for our health (physical, spiritual, and emotional). I am excited to lead our team into this, and I am excited that the Lord is going to use us greatly.

PRAY FOR NEPAL.
