Mapiri…if you look at a map of Bolivia chances are that you won’t find it. I’m guessing the gringo count will be at an all time high of seven when we arrive. Mapiri is a rural area, very rural and tropical.

We leave Trujillo tonight at 9PM and arrive in LaPaz, Bolivia Monday evening. Do the math on that wonderful travel day! Our team will be staying in LaPaz for the night then heading on another 11 to 12 hour stent to Mapiri, which is when the real adventure begins.

We get to travel on “Death Road.” What’s that you ask? Google it and you will see (sorry for the hear attack mom). A 2000 ft drop on one side of the road, a very narrow road.

Of course I am excited about that. My other team mates aren’t nearly as excited for some reason. Oh yeah, we are probably taking a boat to actually arrive at our location in Mapiri. I feel like it’s going to be Survivor style where we get dropped off in the middle of nowhere and see what happens.

Ministry in Bolivia is going to be a month of construction for us ladies. However, I don’t think my time welding for ministry in Ecuador can be topped. I am thinking building scaffolding in Mapiri would be along the lines of us using hemp rope to cross tie bamboo together, if it were to happen.

I lead my team in prayer last night to prepare for our journey. They probably want allow me to do that anymore. I believe in big prayers. I prayed that God would ease their fears if necessary but allow them to face their fears and grow. After all, there is no time like the present. Anyways, this will probably be my last update for awhile seeing as I doubt there will be a near by mall or coffee shop for wifi, so pray for my funding…PLEASE:)

“On the next episode of Survivor, seven gringas take on the tropics of Boliva, stay tuned to see what happens next….”
