My team received our first mission assignment last week, and our first stop is Quito, Ecuador. We will spend our first few weeks working with an organization called Inca Link Ecuador. We will be placed within a community to try to provide restoration for women and teenage girls who have been through or are at risk of sexual abuse, violence, or prostitution.
It is ironic that I leave a job that I have had for years that solely did restoration work. My job back then was directed to restoration of homes and reassuring customers that their damaged house would be a home again. Now my mission at hand is restoring the lives of damaged women.
In just a few short weeks my journey will begin. My house will be my tent. My closet will be my backpack. My family becomes by team and squad. I still need your help to make this happen.
