Hola from Bolivia!
I wanted to send a note and thank you all for being a part of this mission. You have helped get me here and in turn made it possible for me to act as part of the body of Christ here in Bolivia. The Lord has been teaching me so much throughout this whole process. I have grown in my relationship with the Lord greatly.
Ministry days in Bolivia have been more so a time of rest. The team that I am on has all been sick this month mainly due to our living conditions. If you know me, then you know I am not good at staying still for too long. However, this month I have truly been thankful for the rest.
We started the month with construction work and helped prepare the grounds for a new church. One other teammate and I helped draw out the plans for the church after talking to the pastor and finding out his vision. The week afterwards, we found out that there were several set backs with the construction so our work was stopped. It was, in a way, a blessing in disguise.
We all got sick shortly after that. It got to the point where we would get sick just from looking at food or smelling it. Our strength went down hill and we all learned to rest during that period of time. The previous two months in ministry were busy with few days of complete rest, but the Lord made us rest this month.
We all spent plenty of time in our Bibles and in prayer. On days when we were feeling better we would serve our host in turn. We cooked them dinner, cleaned the grounds, cleaned their kitchen, and took their kids out to dinner. One day we even made them brownies. That was a big hit.
This month, we also preached and evangelized. We have prayed over strangers and cared for the sick. We have taught Sunday school and counseled people. We have sang in front of church and poured love into widows. We have taught english to children and adults.
In a few days I will be on a flight to India. Our ministry next month is taking place at a orphanage. We will be pouring love into children and teaching them about the word. This is the start of our six months in Asia. Please be praying for the team as well as the squad in general. We have already had two girls return to the states. One is staying and the other is joining us in time to go to India.
I only have one more deadline to meet and it is in July. I must be fully funded in order to stay the full eleven months. If not, I return home in July. Currently I am $5,000 away from meeting the deadline. If you can, please donate.
