Tonight I was able to Zoom with 11 of my squad mates! To think that in just one week I get to see these lovely people God has placed in my life. A few of them I was on my second route with and a few I just started to get to know a few months ago.
I am can be honest after switching from O squad that left in January and then having to open my self up to a new squad it actually took me a couple months to do so and when I finally did it was all changed with an email that that route was to be dropped. So when I got into my new squad again I could hold back but this time I jumped right in. Shortly after I was invited to car pool to training camp, and a sleep over.
See we tend to take are time normally making new friends. We test out how much we can really trust someone with all our insecurities, fears, flaws, dreams, desires, prayer requests etc. We wonder who is are real friends and who is just there when you can do something for them.
I can say I have a lot of really close friends but most of them took a lot of time to get to know, to become people I could trust with everything, But in this season in my life God is opening a door to a different way of living all together. A way of being an open book, a way of letting people in and a lot of them at one time. Not just 1 or 2.
Since becoming a part of the World Race I have become friends with at least 150 people who are doing the world race, not counting all the people God is bringing to me to share my story with about me leaving.
Can you imagine with me what it would be like if everyone in the World would just be open to being best friends the second you meet them. That this pure love not corrupted by wanting anything in return could be shared with strangers. what would the world be like then.
We are all different but just like when we were kids and no matter who was in the neighbor hood we all were friends, we shared in our differences and no one was going to break that bond.
Well tonight I can tell that T-squad, World Race Family we have this crazy bond that can’t be explained and yet we haven’t met in Person yet! We Pray for each other share the Word of God together, Laugh till we Cry and our stomachs hurt. Sure there might be some awkward pauses due to not knowing what to say, or who is going to speak they always ended in laughter and jokes and then followed by something that just makes us laugh so hard that we are wiping the tears from our eyes. Ephesians 4:2-4 explains our bond “…2with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;…”
God is hand picking all the people I am to spend this year with and I don’t think I could take it if I don’t meet the physical or financial goal to leave with this squad especially after meeting them in a few days. I believe I am truly meant to be with this squad. I am excited to meet everyone at Camp and I am casting my worry of not meeting the next goal out the door and I am focusing on God. Keep me and my squad in prayers as we begin to travel to training camp, for us truly open up at training camp. That we would be knit together in one accord as we prepare to leave for the World Race. Pray for us as we start to say our hard good byes. Pray that we all meet the physical aspect of the training so we can go. Pray that we all will be Not only Launch Funded but as close to fully funded if not fully funded before we go.
If you want to live your life like an open book learn to laugh till you cry! learn that different doesn’t make them an enemy but someone that can help you complete something you lack in. Open your heart to let others in, but don’t expect anything in return. No one really owes you anything.
Will you pray about supporting me and my Journey! Will you share about my Journey with others you know that may be willing to sow into the kingdom. Oh and if you need a topic that will help you laugh till you cry try talking about BACON it is such an awesome topic. lol and sometimes a team mates face when Bacon is mentioned makes you think of this haha https://youtu.be/Ug_iluxQ1IQ
