Over seven years I worked to build a photography business and in this day in America we like to label everything down to our personalities by what we do. whether it be being a doctor, or photographer, singer, athlete, etc. That is ok to an extent but it is not your identity is it? I have always had so many passions, too many to focus on just one, which really made it hard to pick a college so I never went. Sure I love to take photos, I love making people happy when they see their loved ones smiling in a photo, or just looking adorable. I love taking photos of God working in the midst of a ministry and how fun it can be with the Lord so it will draw men not necessarily to the event but so it would draw men to the Lord. But I am more then just a photographer! When I was in India the team got to see part of me that I kinda put on the back burner because I filled in the gap with photography where there was a need. I stepped up in India and sang a couple times and for some they were just surprised that I stepped out in that, what is interesting is when I was in school that is what I was known for. But I am also more than just a singer. In India I also stepped out in praying for people which surprised some but when I first joined the church I am in now I was always praying for others, I stepped back for those that were stepping up into that. But again I am more then what I do. What I am trying to say is that my Identity and Your Identity is not in what we do whether it is in the church or for a job. Our Identity is in Christ, and if people only remember you for what you do maybe you haven’t been showing all that you really are enough or maybe we are so focused on what we see on the outside, that we forget to look beyond to what lies beneath. Are we just seeing the cover up because we are too busy to get to the heart of people. I want my Identity first and foremost to be in Christ and secondly I want to be known for my love beyond anything else. I want to Love like Jesus.”However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”Acts 20:24

I feel that we may be gifted in one or two or even a lot but it is not the Gift that makes us special it the the Lord who gifted us to bless others and to use those gifts to share His love.

Let us do everything as unto the Lord, Let us step up to fill the needs no matter where they are. If you are gifted in something use it even if it something you don’t care for. Train someone who has the passion for it and then you are passing a long what the Lord has given to you.
