God has been teaching me over the past year to be ready in season and out of season. My Sleep pattern has always been a mess for as long as I can remember but since coming home from my short term missions trip to India it has gotten worse. I tend to laugh because it seems that no matter my work schedule my phone starts to blow up from Facebook messenger anytime from 3:30 am till 7:00 am. Conversations with some people I met in India or their family members that I never met in person. Always with prayer request, questions about things in the bible or new worship songs. It turns into this time where I can pour into their lives. Pray for their needs, and Share God’s word with them. I have learned that you don’t just have to be where someone is to disciple them. You don’t have to be on the same time schedule because God will wake you up so that you are available for the one He wants you to pour into. It may be 3:30 am here but it is 1:30/2:00 pm their time. They don’t realize the time difference. We need to be open no matter the inconvenience it might be for us, for whom ever God puts in our paths. whether we are rushing to work and someone tries to stop and ask for help on the way or we are trying to sleep, or giving when you don’t really have the funds to do so. God calls us to make disciples of all the nations, those that do short term missions that doesn’t mean it stops when you get back home. I can only imagine what life will be like after the race but I do know that even if God doesn’t send me out again (which I don’t think is the case). I will still be making disciples in the nations because I will be always open for who God wants me to pour into. If you should take anything from this, Be open to what God wants you to do. Have a heart that says “Here I am God, Send me.” Don’t regret something because you stayed in your comfort zone and missed that amazing opportunity to impact someone else’s life. In the end you will feel amazed that God wanted to use you in that moment. You will be just as blessed as those you got to bless. We need to get passed its all about us and realize it is all about God.
