So i know i may be overloading on the Blogs this week but i haven't had a chance to let everyone know what we are doing here in Phuket, Thailand. We arrived here Monday morning early… All 5 teams from U Squad. After about 2-3 days of worship, more bonding and getting settled 3 of the teams took off for more travel up to the north part of Thailand. Thankfully my team Lit to Blaze and another team of all girls- Blue Sky- Get to stay here in Phuket and work with a ministry called SHE Thailand. http://shethailand.org please check out the ministry.. such an amazing thing they are doing. There's a team of 8 other people from YWAM that are here for 3 months we have been able to get to know and worship with as well. Our mission here is to go down to a really disturbed and dark area called the red light district.. we are getting to know the women (and often young girls) that work here to provide for their families. The main road we work on has around 200 bars on it averaging around 6 girls a bar- thats approximately 1200 girls down there that work and sell themselves to make money to support themselves and their families. Mark and Sharon of SHE Thailand have worked hard to provide shelter and jobs for these women. They make jewelry (as you can see from the website) and other things to make money. We will also be providing devotionals and teaching english with these women. Most the women hate it in the bars and want out but have no hope or encouragement to make a move. Last night was our first night and some amazing things happened. God was moving mountains in that place and it was powerful. After some major "sun stand still" prayers (i know from me and possibly from others) for something HUGE that only God could explain we were totally left with our jaws dropped and our hands lifted high. There was a major street that branches off from the main one that was one of the worst there, always packed, women dancing on all the bars- satan had worked hard there.. After 5 years SHE had never been able to get a girl to leave this street. We walked back and forth looking for it- only for it to have been COMPLETELY shut down- in ONE DAY!!! Ghost town.. even bottles still laying there like God had reached down and snatched everything up and left the skeleton. The YWAM girls were so unbelievably shocked to say the least. AHHH THE POWER IN THAT MOMENT! The audacious, sun stand still prayer for something only the power of God could do was in action. Another team mate had felt the word of God calling her to a particular girl standing on the side of the road and as she approached her the girl convulsed and completely fell out with facial expression frozen.. our teammate chelsea caught the girl as she fell. They whole team surrounded her sure that she had passed on and that it was obvious that there was no life left in the young girl. They prayed and someone else gave the girl cpr and they saw the girl come back to consciousness. Not sure exactly what happened or if she had really passed on but hey we like to think she was raised from the dead 😉 Thanks everyone for the continued prayers.. they are obviously working and we have definitely been called to this beach.. We are praying for more works of God like we saw last night! PRAISE HIM!
