Psalm 27:8 My heart says of you “Seek his face” your face of Lord I will seek!
Blokes and Sheilas, (I’m just gonna write every Australian word I’ve learned on here.. Except most I’ve heard im sure are offensive.. The 18 year old beside me on the plane had quite a field day with that.. You should’ve seen his face when I told him we were Christian missionaries.. Ahh I love shock value, and devine appointments!! But even more so I wish I could’ve have seen his face later after opening the notes/letters/prophecies Beka and I wrote him on the plane.. Speakin Life what what?! )

So after a very eventful day spent in Vietnam, pretty sure that country had something out for us from the beginning.. We spent a few days camping out in airports.. Think im kidding?! About 7 hours in Vietnam, then about 16 hours (yes 16) in Darwin, then a couple in Brisbane before finally landing in some town that starts with a M.. can’t remember the name.. slightly delusional at this point.. About a 2 hour drive north and BAM Airlie Beach Australia… aka the other promised land…

So the cost of living in Australia.. Let me see if this helps you figure it out – a bottle of coke- $4; 7 bananas- $13; cup of coffee- $3-4.… I think my eyes popped completely out of my eye sockets (so proud I didn’t say LITERALLY popped out of my head because I have recently been corrected that saying literally to something like that doesn’t actually work.. It has to ACTUALLY have happened, so I’m working on that ha) BUT anyways.. WOW this place is so absolutely breathtakingly beautiful… is that even a word? Who knows.. (I did teach English last month ha.. Poor students who knows what I taught them.)
So we have hit Australia in rain season.. So the first three days it POURED down on us.. LITERALLY rained all three days, and I can say literally because it actually did.. What a change from Cambodia.. We haven’t seen rain in probably 6 weeks! I could have danced in it for hours! While in serious prayer and intercession I was led to Joel 2:23 “Rejoice, you people of Jerusalem! Rejoice in the Lord your God! For the rain he sends demonstrates his faithfulness, Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring.” AHH God is so good.. He continues to show me His face more and more everyday!
Day 1: after 3-4 days of travel.. A quick debrief on all the poisonous spiders, snakes, jelly fish, toads, snails etc etc etc.. pretty terrified to even leave the house at this point, I’m ok with living in a bubble for the whole month. Next morning- 6:30 am manual labor in the yard (which is ACTUALLY a rain forest) pulling weeds.. ! We were accompanied by many various colors and sizes of spiders and others… others because I have no idea what kind of insect some of these things are. Builds character…I screamed like a girl a few times.. Which is ok since I am a girl….
Day 2: day off. YAY!!!!!!!! SLEEEEEEEEP Who would have that traveling and sleeping in planes and airports would make you so exhausted!
Day 3: 5-7am Prayer time! Ywam Australia does a 24 hour prayer chain and on Tuesdays it was from 5 in the morning till 7 so we started out with some worship then some serious intercession.. It was actually one of my favorite mornings so far. Nap time them more team bible study and worship… Tuesday rocked! Today: We did morning prayer walking through the towns and beach of Airlie.. From 7-9 in the morning (try to get it done before it gets too hot outside)
Great month so far.. Our ministry is going to be focusing on the many backpackers that come through this town.. Its crazy how focused the whole area is towards backpackers. Hoping to make a different and an impact in our short time here. So gorgeous today! We are going to try and head down to the beach area maybe later and strike up some conversations and spread some Jesus!! Limited wifi so will try to post another blog before we leave! Love you guys XOXO
