I made it! For those of you that don’t know, I am here in Cambodia. It is crazy to think that I’ve been here for a little over a week! My Squad and I left on October 5th and arrived in Phenom Penh late that following Friday. In total, we were traveling for around 46 hours.

Fun fact: I didn’t exist on Thursday the 6th because when we left America it was still Wednesday night, but when we landed in Korea, it was very early Friday morning. Here is a video of what that day looked like:

The first few days after arrival were a little hectic. Between language barriers and jet lag, it was a bit of a struggle. But now, we’ve settled a bit and communication between my team and the host. The Cambodian people are a beautiful people, and in later posts, I’ll share a few stories of what I am learning from them.

So what am I doing this month?

Well, Monday thru Friday we stay at the Adore school in a province an hour outside of Phenom Penh. In the morning we sit in and help, the teachers with Khmer class (the native language in Cambodia). Usually we a few hours for lunch and then we help with English class. Sometimes we help with cleaning, handing out uniforms, and doing whatever else we are asked to do. If it isn’t raining, we go to visit people on their farms.

Friday nights thru Sunday nights, we stay in the capital and work with the church Kinship Cambodia. This past Friday we had an intercession and worship night. Saturday is our “Adventure” (off) day. It gives us a chance to explore and rest. We also play soccer at night with the youth. Sundays we go to church. Next Sunday we’ll be leading worship! After service, we eat and cook lunch with the youth and then help with English class. Our evenings change from day to day.

I am continually excited to see where the rest of this month takes me and what God teaches me.  My prayer request is for the continual growth as my  team continues to grow and work together. I also still have a financial goal that I need to meet.

Thank you all for your continual support and prayers!
