We have been in Argentina for 2 weeks now and I’m really enjoying getting to know the people here. The people at YWAM are so kind and they have really blessed us. I wanted to share with you some cool things that the Lord has done these past 2 weeks and some things He has spoken to me.
One day when we were walking home from ministry, I dropped my phone out of my pocket at one point but didn’t notice until we got back to YWAM. It was about 10-15 minutes before someone could come with us so that we could walk back down the street looking for the phone. During those 10-15 minutes, I did a lot of praying and I had finally just surrendered that if I never get my phone back, it’s ok. I wouldn’t be so sad about losing the phone, it’s the pictures and videos that I would be sad about losing. Finally, someone came and we started walking down the road. The lady that came with us started praying as we were walking. We were all praying also. As soon as she said Amen, there was my phone on the side of the road, face up, still working. Thank you Lord!!
That same day, I think, the treasurer’s on our team wanted to go to town so we could use the Wi-fi to do things we needed to do. We were told that we couldn’t and that we had to do it on our off day/day of rest. That was a bummer and we were all pretty upset about it. It was unfair. Anyway, that night during worship, I started weeping when we were singing about God’s kingdom but I didn’t know why I was weeping. That was strange. Then Jay was preaching and he mentioned God’s kingdom again and I remembered that’s why I started crying, when we were singing about God’s kingdom. Then Jay ended with asking if we have anything to repent of and then to confess it to someone. I realized then that I lost my focus and I repented for my bad atttiude. Then I went to confess to someone and we talked about it. I realized that this is not about me and what I want. This is all for God’s glory and to further His Kingdom.
Since March of this year, the Lord has been speaking to me about feet and some people at my church prayed for me and prophesied over me about my feet. It was so beautiful and He continues to talk to me about feet even this past week. Some ladies at my church prophesied that my every step will be established by God. And “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news.“ I looked up that verse in Isaiah 52:7 and it’s even more amazing than I thought. It says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation..” I love that because we have been in the mountains and I love being in the mountains. These ladies also said that beauty will be created where the ground meets my feet, beauty will be formed. God’s presence will go where my feet step. As I step forward in faith, I will bring the kingdom into these countries, the second that we touch ground there will be a rippling effect of kingdom, righteousness, godliness, peace, joy, healing, prophecy, and wholeness. I’m saying all of this because on that same night when I was weeping and I didn’t know why, the girl I confessed my bad attitude to said that she felt like God wanted her to pray for my feet. It just reminded me that God is with me wherever I go and that He has been preparing the ground. A week after all this happened, some of our squad mates felt led to wash everyone’s feet. What a beautiful and humbling experience.
Another beautiful and really special experience happened one day when we were invited to someone’s house and this lady made us frappuccinos. I know that may not seem really special to some of you but it was such a blessing. The coffee was delicious, but this just showed me how doing one small act could make such a big impact in someone’s life. We may be wanting to see big miracles happen and maybe they will, but God is also in the small things, like inviting some missionaries to your house for frappaccinos. I thank God for this experience because it’s shifted my mindset and I plan on doing things differently when I get back to the USA.
Last thing I want to share with you is what God was speaking to me while I was walking around and admiring the beautiful trees around us. I love to see the leaves dancing when the wind blows. This is what He was saying:
Cristina, you are like this tree right here.
Tall
Thin
Strong
Steadfast
Unmovable
Yet flexible when the wind blows
You won’t break easily, you may bend by what life throws at you but you won’t break
Joyful like the leaves dancing when the wind blows
Natural
You have branches
You will bear fruit and seeds in season to reproduce
You will give shade to others and help them rest in me
You have strong roots grounded in me
You are beautiful
You need my Son/Sun for life and to grow
You need my water for life and to grow
You glisten in the sun
You reflect my light
Psalm 1
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

I’m sorry that this post was so long. There is a lot more that the Lord has been doing but this is enough for now. We are leaving to Bolivia next week on Thursday and will be traveling for 2 days by bus. Please be praying for safe travels. I’m not sure when I will be able to blog again but I will do my best. I’m not sure if we have Wi-fi in Bolivia or not. I will keep you guys posted.
