Romania. Oh how happy I was to step into Romania. There is just something special about going back to your home country. I was filled with joy as soon as we crossed the border.
It was such a blessing to finally know what’s going on around me. For the past 6 months, we were in countries where I couldn’t understand what people were saying around me unless they spoke English. It was such a breath of fresh air to be able to communicate and connect with people in a way I haven’t been able to yet. It brought me to life. It reminded me of my time in Chile, where everything was so beautiful and I was constantly in awe.
We spent this month with other teams. There were 3 teams here in Draganesti-Olt and 2 other teams also working with the ministry here, Hope Church, but they were in other cities in Romania. Then we had 2 teams not too far away in Pitesti. My teams ministry this month was to work in the office, specifically with our host, Raul. We helped to answer emails, keep up with his social media, take pictures and get them to the right people, manage the office and my job was to be the point person between our squad and Raul, our host. I was also pretty much his personal assistant for the month. That means that I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him and I’ve learned so much from him. It was such a blessing.

Something I really enjoyed about this ministry is that we started each day with 2 hours of worship and prayer. Prayer is very important and I’m glad it’s a priority at Hope Church. The other teams that were also in Draganesti-Olt did ministry with the missionaries here. They passed out New Testaments to many people, went evangelizing, worked with a few Roma communities around this area, did Kids ministry, did Prison ministry, gave away clothes, passed out food, and other things.

This church here is very passionate about missions and sends out people around the area here in Draganesti-Olt, around Romania and also in other Balkan countries.

I really enjoyed my job so much this month. I was able to do it with such joy even through I was constantly on the phone, on the run or problem solving. People kept asking me how I was doing and if I was ok. I think they were expecting me to crash at some point but the Holy Spirit gave me the strength and endurance to do everything I needed to with ease. It was incredible!

In the picture in the middle, I was talking on 2 phones relaying information. Believe it or not, this happened more than once. 🙂
