Hi everyone! I’ve been meaning to write a blog post for a month now but I honestly haven’t had the time or the energy. So many things have been going on. All good.

At the beginning of June, I began praying about getting more work and I even got a little frustrated about money. I was looking back in my past and regretting different things and even doing the ‘What if’ thing and the ‘If only I had’ thing. I was going down a bad path in my mind but I thank God it only lasted a day. I talked to some people who I trust and they helped get me back on the trusting God path. As always, God heard my prayers and He answered them the next day. I’ve had a bunch of extra work these past 2 months and even though it’s kept me busy and tired, I’m so thankful.

Besides working a lot more, these past 2 months have been months of training and preparation. Physically, I’ve been training on most Thursdays trying to get to my goal of walking 3 miles in 50 minutes with my pack. I’m not quite there yet, but I’m getting better and better. I also work physically almost everyday so that keeps me in shape. Another thing I’ve been doing to prepare physically is take a Self Defense class in June and I’m taking an Advanced Self Defense class this month. It’s been amazing and very empowering.

To prepare spiritually, I did a 21 day Daniel Fast. God always surprises and amazes me with what He does when I fast. There is something powerful that happens when we take specific time to focus on Him more and less on things of this earth. It really helps with renewing our mind and putting things in perspective. I believe fasting is positioning ourselves to receive what God has for us. There are things that happen only when we fast. There’s a book I really like called ‘The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast.’ I highly recommend it if you’ve been thinking about doing the Daniel Fast. Another thing I’ve been doing to prepare spiritually is I’m taking this online course called ‘A Biblical Overview of Eternal Rewards.’ It’s an 8 week course and it’s changed so much how I view eternity and God’s kingdom. Honestly, I haven’t really thought about either topic much, until recently. This course has been life-changing. Did you know that one day we will stand before God and have to give an account of everything we have ever said and done? Then we will be given rewards based on what we’ve done on this earth. What we do with our time, money, deeds and words really matters. Also Jesus says that we will reign with Him in His Kingdom. What we do on this earth will affect what position we will have in His kingdom. This is so fascinating to me! It’s really got me thinking and evaluating my life. Also the Lord has reminded me about being a cheerful giver and giving more.

Training Camp is coming up in 4 weeks and I almost have everything I need for that. It will be a challenging, yet amazing 10 days. I can’t wait! Georgia, here I come.

Lastly, to prepare financially I’ve been having yard sales for the past 3 Saturdays and we are doing one more. I’ve also continued talking to people and have definitely been praying about it. I am so thankful to everyone who has donated stuff for the yard sales and for my amazing family who has helped me each weekend. I couldn’t have done it without them. I’m also planning a few more fundraisers. My next deadline is $10,000 by Sept. 22nd. I’m almost there. Please pray with me that I am able to raise all $18,017 before I leave on the World Race in October. However, I have until the end of Jan, 2018 if needed.
