Ministry was great this week! I had six children in my group for most of the week. We taught them that God’s love is powerful, saves, protects, and provides. The children are so smart that after I repeated the Bible verse, Joshua 1:9 twice, they were able to quote it themselves. I was so impressed!

Celebration was a great time as we started and ended the day singing songs, having fun, and praising our Savior! I absolutely loved it when the African children would sing songs in their own language, all in one accord, praising their God and king.

After a jammed-packed week of Jesus camp, my boys were worn flat out. They LOVE to wrestle, run, play, and go crazy, anytime…anywhere, so that was a God moment for me when they finally laid down to rest. ☺ Poor little Sammy…my sweet little Reneilwe stayed on him all week about his behavior. I finally decided we would play Simon says we cannot tattle-tale anymore today. ☺ It worked too! Praise Jesus!

Lunch time was a great time for all! We ate hot dogs, rice and beans, sloppy joes, and burritos. On Thursday, a few of us were blessed with the opportunity to eat chicken feet or as the kids call them, “run-aways,” Mmmm…thank you kids for being so generous! ☺

Recreation time was full of new games, playtime and loads of fun! The children learned how to work together and how important each person was to the group. The final day of camp, the rec. team put on a talent show for the kids. It was great! One of my girls, Kabelo, gave a speech about how much she loves her God and new American friends. So sweet… Some of the older boys did a skit of Jesus dying on the cross for them and ended with “Jesus Loves Me.” It was powerful!

My kids loved teaching me a few common greetings in the local Soo-too and Africons languages. I learned how to say good morning, thank you, my name is…, what is your name, sorry, Jesus loves you, and I love you. My boys also taught me how to say, you are naughty and you are silly. Of course every time I told them that, they would laugh like crazy and tell me to say it again. For some reason, they liked it. Hmmm…boys!

This is Kabelo, Kefilwe, Reneilwe, Ashley, Sammy, and Leboholang. We were the Wildcats! Yay, wildcats! This week was craaaaazzzyyy fun! Next week will be our final week of camp in a new area. It is about an hour drive from where we are staying, so we will be starting very early. Woo-hoo! ☺ Thanks so much for all of your prayers and encouragement. God is doing great things!
