I have been busy the past six weeks working at the Well in the mornings and afternoons with six beautiful women. This particular center focuses on making handbags and other small creations to sell in the States. Jane and I were able to introduce a few new styles, journals, and other smaller items for the younger girls to work on. I had a blast learning to quilt and practice my sewing skills. 🙂

We spent our mornings in a time of worship and prayer with the girls. After being there a few weeks the center leader asked Jane and I if we would be willing to start sharing in the mornings during devotions and worship. We gladly accepted the invitation and moved as the Spirit led. We shared our life stories, testimonies, struggles, and dreams. God moved greatly in these small and fragile moments. Several of the girls just recently accepted Christ as their Savior; others have not yet received Christ. The girls told us that they didn’t know much about Jesus, but they were longing to know more. They asked questions like: Which comes first, Buddhism or Christianity? Is Jesus and eternal life real, and if so how do I get to know this Jesus? (This was my favorite question! 🙂 ) And why are there so many world religions and Christian denominations? The questions were great and we answered them eagerly. It was such a privilege to have the opportunity to pour into these girl’s lives and see God at work in their hearts.

The Well girls have become like family to me. We have cried and laughed together, worked hard, and shared our hearts with each other. This is what I call the patchwork of love in that we were not only mending fabrics this month, but also hearts.

The girls don’t get the chance to go out much, so Jane and I planned a girl’s night out before we said goodbye.

We took the girls bowling, shopping, watched a movie, and enjoyed a fun meal together.

Great times!
