As I prepare to head back to America (MY FLIGHT IS TOMORROW) I wanted to give a shout out to FSquad! This group of incredibly gifted people have changed my heart for the better and have lovingly welcomed me into theirs. This past 5 months has been filled with highs, lows and buffalos (thanks BD for teaching me that) with this squad and I’m so grateful for it.
I wanted to share some things I’ve learned about myself as a leader and mostly as a human being.
– I talk too much sometimes, I feel like my opinion always needs to be heard even when it doesn’t. So I’m learning the balance of voicing my convictions and shutting up and letting other people talk.
– I have a gift of celebration and I LOVE celebrating people and letting them know how worthy they are of that.
– I interrupt people way too often when they’re talking.
– I bring joy into most situations and can provide really good perspective.
– I want to carry other people’s burdens and need to figure out how to do that while empowering them to carry their own.
– I love bringing laughter and light-heartedness into situations!
– I require too much of myself at times and over analyze every convo/ decision about what I could’ve done better.
– I can healthily balance seriousness and fun.
– I can have an attitude when things don’t go my way (I promise I’m getting better)
– I can approach hard topics/ “elephants in the room” when necessary in a healthy way.
– I’m learning how to lead alongside people that are completely different than I am.
– I forget often how Good God is and how Powerful He is.
– I am capable of loving everybody always, it is a choice
– I LOVE DISCIPLING AND POURING INTO PEOPLE!
These are a FEW of the things I’ve learned in these short five months from F Squaddies and I’m so thankful!
This is a group of people that I’ve witnessed pour into their community around them. Whether it’s teammates, locals, hosts, neighbors, dogs and cats! It’s true! It’s something I’ve seen each of them do extremely well at and fail at often (hey, none of us are perfect) but the difference is I haven’t seen one person throw in the towel. If they can’t figure out how to love someone they fight like heaven anyways. They’re willing to give it another go and that’s been a true eye-opener for me. The word that the Lord spoke over this squad before I even met them was COMMUNITY and it’s something I see His favor in time and time again. I’m so thankful for that.
I’ve loved helping people see that we’re worth fighting for and we’re worth pursuit. That’s been so humbling, heartbreaking and rewarding all in the same breath. Each person on this squad in some way has touched my heart and I will never forget how.
F Squad, I am so excited to see the story of the rest of your lives far beyond the World Race. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to witness these things along your journey and for teaching me so much as well.
As a Squad Leader, we come into this thing obviously not knowing what to expect and we leave this thing not knowing what to say. I’m blown away by your character, fervor, willingness, Love, passions, obedience, and FIGHT! You are women and men of God and it shows in the ways you love each other. Thanks for making it (kinda) easy to say goodbye, for now, because you’re ready to be without us and lead one another. It’s what was intended for you and it has been a true honor serving alongside you all. I’m so excited to see you all in Belize and hear/see the crazy beautiful things the Lord has done in and through you all! Until then LOVE EVERYBODY ALWAYS! (And after then too 😉

This is our beautiful squad!
I’d love to go back out to the field for one week in September to see them and I’m $1,350 away from that happening. I’m asking 27 people, If you can donate $50 today to help me get there that would be so very appreciated and would get my first Debrief fully funded! Thank you for your partnership, prayers, encouragements, and love along this journey. My life has been changed because of it! If you have any interest in hearing about all the things I’ve done/seen let me know and we can set up a coffee date! If love to hear what’s been going on in your life as well! Or f you’d like a postcard please email me your address at [email protected]
🙂
LOVE YOU ALL THANK YOU!
