Thank you for all your prayers. Dad is doing much better and is completely off oxygen-Praise God! His blood sugars are staying stable around 145-150, much better than the upwards of 500. He has completed his chemotherapy treatments causing his bone marrow to be destroyed and requiring growth of new bone marrow. His counts are very low and therefore he is still very tired and receives a blood or platelet transfusion most days. His throat is very sore and he hurts all over most days.

He will be in the hospital for at least 2-3 more weeks to allow his bone marrow to regrow and will have a bone marrow biopsy to find out if he is in remission (if his bone marrow is producing healthy white blood cells).  Once he is in remission and his blood counts are high enough for him to be released from the hospital, we will go to Charleston, SC for consultation for a bone marrow transplant. Then Dad will continue to come back into the hospital for more chemo treatments to keep him in remission until he has the bone marrow transplant.

Please continue to pray for Dad and my family during this time. We are praying for Dad to be in remission and to find a bone marrow match. If you would like to be tested you can go to your local blood donation center and have HLA testing done and be added to the national bone marrow list.

We can tell you are praying and God is hearing and answering your prayers. Thank you for all your love and support while we are battling this trial. We have comfort in knowing God is in control and with us each step of the way.
