Well we haven’t quite made it to Swaziland yet. Hopefully we will accomplish that tomorrow.

Our trip from Malawi to Johannesburg was extremely smooth. We didn’t spend more than 2 hours at any border and our bus had reclining seats and no issues. Getting to Swaziland is a bit tricker.

Due to the poverty in Swaziland the South African government has closed the border to both South Africans and people from Swaziland. So if we don’t want to change buses at the border, we need a driver that is from another country.

So we have to wait till Saturday morning to leave, but we found a well respected backpackers company that will take us all the way there and they even have a trailer.

In the meantime we have been resting and chilling at the same hostel that was so gracious to us during our first layover in Joberg. It has been great to have time to relax and spend time with the people here. We even had time to watch the Colts and Titans game last night…..well early this morning.

Tomorrow we have about 8 hours of travel then we will be in Swaziland. The country is supposed to be amazing and heartbreaking and I’m not sure how I will react when I meet person after person dying from AIDS. Everyone I have talked to has called Swaziland one of their favorite places on the race so I hope to share their passion and heart for it.
