Go to school, get good grades, graduate and get a good job. Work a few years then go back to school and get your masters. Meet a nice woman. Make sure she’s beautiful. Have a few kids. Go to church on Sundays. Live inside your means and have a nice life. Sound familiar?
This is the life that I mapped out for myself. However, deep down I felt that God had something else for me. So I decided to dig into the word, seek God, and his plan for my life. Take a look at what I found:
John 3:16 “For God So loved the world that he gives his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life”
This perhaps is the most popular bible scripture in the world. In a short sentence it sums up how God loves us and what he gave to demonstrate that love.
But not to many people know Luke 9:23 “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me”
John 3:16 is the belief……Luke 9:23 is the Action
After an honest evaluation of my walk with Christ, I found that I was not putting my belief into action.
THIS IS WHY I GO?
I GO because Jesus called me to pick up my cross and follow him!
I GO because popular opinion tells me not to!
I GO because the word says so!
