In life we don’t get to choose our blood family. They are just the people we end up being related to and nothing we can do changes that biological fact. Most of the time people say they chose their friends that became a second family. Thing is, sometimes that’s not true either.
In August the World Race told me who my team was for the first leg of The Race. As we all sat together learning everything we could about each other I thought “this is never gonna work. We know nothing about each other. How could we possibly become a little family?”
In a shocking turn of events…it worked.
We laughed together, we cried together, we fought for each other (and occasionally with each other), we hurt each other, we forgave each other, we held each other, we loved each other, we prayed together, we served together, we worshipped together, we pushed each other towards The Father, and we stood in the presence of Yahweh together.
This blog is an appreciation blog for all of more amor, but each of us is writing a blog about one human on the team, so I’m not gonna be a hog and take everybody.
Wow. What a human.
I have learned so much from Bre and loved getting to watch her grow in confidence in the incredible human that God has created her to be.
She is steadfast, vibrant, funny, driven, organized, adventurous, high energy, loving, gracious, kind, an incredible teacher, and desires things of the Spirit in a way that blows my mind.
This girl is FUNNY. Her laugh is contagious and brightens any room she is in. Her whole face smiles when she does. When she runs across the street to avoid being hit by oncoming traffic her arms turn into adorable flappy wings and its one of my favorite things to watch. She avoids lighting stove burners because she is terrified that she is going to catch something on fire.
Bre has this ability to be in a room full of people and spot the one human that is hurting or needs special love. They don’t have to necessarily be the child crying in the corner or the woman who has separated herself from the group, but Bre can see the hurt and uncertainty and is immediately willing to do something about it. No matter where we have been I’ll look up and she is sitting with somebody that couldn’t find their place or playing with a child that was being left out. It is beautiful.
She is a prayer warrior ya’ll. She so desires to grow and desires that same thing for others that she is constantly seeking God for answers and guidance. The wisdom that comes of that girls mouth…oofta. Look out!!
Bre is clothed in righteousness and has a beautiful anointing from The Father. Through Him she has overcome so much and will continue to love those around her with His love.
Thank you Bre for letting me a part of this season of your life. It has been (and will continue to be, not getting rid of me this easy) a joy to hear your story, walk with you through pieces of healing, and laugh with you…a lot. You are a gem!
We are on different teams now, but I look forward to watching you continue to do awesome things for the Kingdom! Love you bunches sister!
