If you’ve spent much time with me you know I question most things. I need to know why you say the things you say, why the rules are in place, and why you believe what you believe. It is just who I am. I’ve been reading through the bible and let me tell you…I have questions. I have a lot of questions. I decided to start writing them down in my journal and realized I have copious amounts of questions. Some of them will never be answered, and that’s okay. But I needed to ask them and figured I would share my ponderings with you. These are in no particular order and are not all super serious, but I’m just curious about the things.
When the disciples forgot to bring bread and Jesus warned them of the leaven from the Pharisees, did they get dinner that night? Did Jesus perform a miracle for them that just got left out of the bible? If so, why? Or, did Jesus just say “sorry fellas, outta luck this time”?
When Jesus tells Peter to go get the shekel from the fishes mouth to pay their taxes, did the fish just miraculously have a shekel in its mouth? Or, is there a whole saga behind that? Like, did somebody drop a shekel, the fish swallow the shekel, and then swim around with a shekel in its mouth until it could get to where Peter was?
Why were mosquitoes created to be more attracted to some peoples blood than others?
Are guardian angels real (Matthew 18:10)?
Why do some humans get warned of their impending doom while others are hung out to dry?
Were the Egyptians given the same opportunity to protect their first born that the Israelites were?
If Pharoah was going to harden his heart anyway, why does God tell Moses beforehand that He would harden Pharoah’s heart?
Was there no other way for God to be glorified in the escape of the Israelites than for thousands of lives to be lost?
Is having fun holy? Will heaven be fun?
In our glorified bodies will burping still be a thing? Tooting? Pooping?
Why were women so overlooked (or looked down on) in the bible? Why does the law treat women so poorly? If all people are made in the image of God, why does God allow a society to treat women like trash?
Can different people experience the same God but one from the Israelite perspective and one from the Egyptian perspective and feel like it is two different God’s?
Is God ever manipulative?
Will people suffering in hell be able to see people in heaven?
Wouldn’t that be comforting in a terrible twisted way?
Is Hades the same thing as hell? Or is Hades almost like a holding cell and then when the end times arrive everyone gets deposited in hell?
Where did Jesus go for 3 days between death and resurrection?
Why is there such a disparity of health, wealth, and intelligence distribution?
