1. Layers! Always wear layers. It will be cold in the airport or on some buses, then insanity hot once you get to your destination.

2. Chugging you water right before security because water is a precious thing that can not be wasted.

3. You’ll hate yourself for having so much stuff and debate just leaving your pack at the airport.

4. You’ll end up sitting in the weirdest places just because there is an outlet.

5. Napping will happen, it won’t be the most comfortable and your body may regret it once you wake up, but what else are you supposed to do in a 20ish hour layover or bus ride.

6. Airport sleep overs and night buses will also happen. Sometimes you’ll love it and its a big adventure. Other times you just want a nice dark and quite place to rest.

7. Or you may not sleep at all…

8. Sometimes you’ll have no clue what Gate you are supposed to be at but its ok there are at least 30 other people you can follow who also do not know where they are going.

9. You will meet some pretty cool and interesting people on you way to your next destination. Enjoy them, talk with them.

10. Bring toilet paper with you, cause you never know…

11. Security will be interesting… you think you got it down and then they go and change things on you. “Mama keep your shoes on, take you laptop out, etc…”

12. You’ll have that heart sink moment when you think you forgot your passport, then that breath of relief when you find it right where you put it in your day pack

13. Always expect the unexpected… so don’t just expect anything.

14. Airplane food isn’t too bad when your hungry and it’s free (oh but then there’s air Asia.)

15. Wearing comfortable clothes is a must.

16. People will stare, just smile and wave.

17. Snacks are the best thing to have! Water is a must!

18. When there’s WiFi on travel day don’t expect too much conversation with your squad.

19. Travel day is also the day you realize you don’t have the right information to get through immigration, but it’s actually easier than you would think.

20. You’ll have travel days that you love and ones you wish you could skip. Enjoy every moment anyway.

21. Pray and just go with it. You’ll get there or you won’t… either way God will work!
