This is a farewell blog to Team Valor.

I got to live with 6 other girls, do life with them, serve with them, and learn about them and about myself through them for four months!

I love all of these ladies so much and know we will all be friends for life!

During our first month officially doing ministry as a team, in Ecuador (month 2), we learned a game called Red Flags. It is a card game where there are white flags (“good” qualities) and red flags (“bad” qualities). The point of the game is to set someone up on a date. One player gives two white flags and then another gives a red flag. For example: He owns 1,000 horses and lives on a 100 acre beach front property but he only wears clothing made of human hair. After everyone has said two white flags with another person giving a red flag then the person who the date was for chooses a date. We enjoyed playing this game as a team and with the other team living with us as well.

It became a joke to say something was a red flag about ourselves. Or we would just say “red flag” when something unfortunate happened.

Because of this we decided as a farewell to our team we would all choose someone on our team and give them two white flags and a red flag

It is our own silly way of sharing a last bit about our team!

Kristen:

  • Fiercely loyal and committed! Whether that’s to a cause, an event, or YOU!
  • Always down for an adventure. It could be the most spontaneous, random adventure and Kristen will be ready. Whether it’s chasing waterfalls in the rainforest or Sari shopping, take Kristen because she will make your trip fun and memorable.
  • So optimistic! In every situation Kristen is able to see the good and/or laugh at the not-so-great.
  • RED FLAG: hide yo kids, hide yo pets because if they’re cute, Kristen “could literally squeeze them to death!” So beware.

Jen:

  • She has the voice of an angel.
  • She makes the best sound effects while playing volleyball.
  • She finds the good in every single situation.
  • RED FLAG: But she sets alarms throughout the day to have time management.

Kelly:

  • Will help you in anyway you need it
  • Is a master listener
  • Has the best hugs when you’re feeling sad
  • RED FLAG: Will wake up at 5 am to clean a stove top

Sarah:

  • Best bear hugs ever
  • Instrumental prodigy
  • As faithful as a golden retriever
  • RED FLAG: she calls all animals “no” (cause she doesn’t want them near her)

  • Always full of joy
  • Can make funny song out of any situation
  • RED FLAG: Can be tickled from 10 feet away

  • She is strong; she can most definitely hold her own.
  • One of the most accomplished and driven women I have ever met, finding source of life from Jesus, Lord of her life.
  • RED FLAG: She has no idea what she’s going to be when she grows up.

Whitney:
