To begin this blog I need to give you the background information first. I began writing this blog in November 2018. I never got around to finishing it completely though. Some of the information here has been shared in other blogs, especially in my 12 years later blog.

With that being said, here is what I wrote in November:

People have asked me many times what country I am the most excited for, I typically respond India!

I have had a love for India since the 7th grade! Whenever I considered God was calling me to a mission trip again I would first begin with research about India!

But recently God has really placed another country on my heart.

I know very little about this country, I didn’t even know it’s the home of a very large landmark… but, God keeps bringing it up!

I was praying and listening to God at Training Camp and I asked Him to show me something from the race ahead of me. It’s sounds silly and I didn’t know what He was going to show me or if He would at all, but then there it was. A huge mountain. Then my view zoomed in on the mountain and was as if I was going very quickly up a trail. I saw random flashes of Nepali people. I saw an elderly women and then random children. I had never looked up what a Nepali person looks like, I had an idea but I wasn’t certain. But, in this moment I knew they were from Nepal. Googling Nepal afterward is how I confirmed the ides that they were from Nepal.

Since this vision Nepal has popped into my mind randomly. God gave me a picture of a mountain again and I believe it to have been a reminder that He has a plan for me.

In the past few weeks I have gotten anxious over fundraising and at one point I was beginning to think of what I would do in January if I didn’t make the deadline. That week at an event called “Prayer, Praise, and Pizza” during the praise portion God popped a thought into my mind. A thought of, “Why would I show you these things about Nepal if you weren’t going there?”

I‘ve resisted the urge to check later routes to see if they go to Nepal, like I said the thought can creep into my mind.

Since that event Nepal keeps on showing up in my thoughts but also through random things! I seriously can’t explain it but now when I see something remotely about Nepal I get excited!

And now, here I am! 6 months after starting to write this blog. I forgot that God showed me this vision at Training Camp and usually refer to it as what God showed me when I was struggling with fundraising.

So now for the nugget that popped into my head this morning. One of those “I told you so” moments from God. The day we were beginning our travel to Nepal, at 3 am I became fully funded. God kept showing me Nepal when I worried about fundraising, He kept assuring me of the promises He has for me in this country. I believe He was also telling me I would be fully funded before I got here.

God works in funny ways and it is not always easy to know His exact plans for us. I still don’t know if the vision is an inside look to what I will be doing here in Nepal, we have a team change debrief to begin this month, but I am still believing it to be true.

Either way, God is still good, He still has a plan and I am still very excited to see what He has in store for me this month!
