You are probably wondering what this blog could be about.

I learned from my I’M SO ITCHY blog that people really truly appreciate honesty so I decided why not write this story with the title that made my team laugh so much!

We arrived in Kenya and all was well, we seriously LOVE this place!

We are privileged to be the first team to partner with Woven Together Ministries and for all of us it feels like home in one way or another! Believe me there will be a blog coming soon sharing more about this place!

But for now I need to share with you a story I never anticipated sharing!

So, it’s day one of ministry here and we are at church. It’s past one o’ clock and I began to feel very dizzy and I attributed it to being in the sun and probably still dehydrated from travel. We kept playing with the kids we were doing Sunday school with and I began drinking my water frequently because the dizziness grew. I also felt a little weird in my stomach, like I was not hungry at all.

Sunday school ended and we headed into The Gazelle (the coffee shop here at Woven Together). I ate lunch even though I felt full and not hungry and I also felt exhausted. I thought it was from tiredness still lingering and the dehydration that I must have had since I was so dizzy.

We came back to our house and had some free time so I took a nap hoping everything would be fine afterward. I woke up feeling like I was on a boat and incredibly nauseous. I went upstairs anyway because I was curious what everyone else was doing and I found half my team baking HOMEMADE PIZZA and the rest meeting with a doctor that had come to visit. What perfect timing!

So I sat at the table and waited my turn to see the doctor, we were all checked out. When I met with him I told him how I was feeling then halfway through our conversation had to run away to go throw-up. I came back and the doctor checked all he could think of, he even left and went to get a blood sugar tester to see if that was my issue. It wasn’t.

That night I continued to feel dizzy. I had to have my team leader run down the stairs for me to get a converter because I was also beginning to feel shaky whenever I moved. It was not pleasant. I also had to miss out on eating pizza because I had no appetite and well I was not looking forward to puking again…

I slept pretty terribly and only ate a banana for breakfast, and as you read in the title of this blog you know what happened after that.

Then I went upstairs for worship and prayer. My team prayed over me with our host Deb and then she made a realization, Makooi was here! He is a Maasai warrior who is born again. He has recently been anointed with a gift for healing and works as a guard on the compound at night. But that morning he was working days, which he NEVER does. So Deb called him up and he prayed over me with my team as well. They prayed twice and I could hear him praying in Maasai. After the first time I stood up and he wanted me to jump around but I still felt dizzy. The second time they prayed and I felt weird during the prayer and then we headed down to the church and The Gazelle to get some work done. I ended up working in the kitchen and started to get hungry, which was exciting since I had had no appetite for over 24 hours. Lunch time came and I ate and felt weird but in reflection I think it was nerves of being nervous to eat. I ate all of my lunch and guess what, nothing happened! I then also ate a cinnamon role and still nothing happened! My dizziness subsided with the food as well and I felt so much better I was able to walk home from ministry rather than ride in the car.

At the gate I met Makooi. I pointed to myself and gave a thumbs up and he raised his hands up and said something in Maaai and then laughed.

I explained how crazy it was to my team that I was able to eat lunch and everything stayed down by first telling them about breakfast. They found the sentence so funny it became the title of this blog.

This isn’t a crazy story of healing or anything but to me it means to much!

I saw the beauty of God’s people coming together to pray over me. I heard another language prayed over me and knew the prayers were genuine without understanding them. And I was able to experience God’s goodness through a quick recovery!

I can tell this month is going to be special for so many reasons but the number one reason is:

God is HERE!

Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

2 Corinthians 6:16
