Hello from Colombia!
Honestly I still cannot believe I am here. I have yet to look out the window and not be in awe at the city God ordained for us to be in. I could write for hours about all that God has done in this city already and we have been here for one week!
I think it is best to start from the beginning: day one, January 8th, my birthday! On January 8th we arrived in Colombia! As we began our descent into Medellin the clouds began to part and we saw mountains, so many beautiful mountains! We could see the city and even then it seemed huge, but we had no idea the vast giganticness of Medellin, Colombia.
We drove from the airport to City of Refuge and on our way I was probably driving Anna crazy as I constantly just said out loud all that I was seeing. I was reminded of the love I have for Latin America and just taking in all of the views was more than enough to make my birthday special!! I wasn’t anxious anymore, just incredibly expectant of all that God was going to do.
You guys, this place is amazing. God has allowed me to understand more Spanish than I ever have before! Colombians use a lot of gestures as they are talking and I can understand and translate what people are saying about 75% of the time. Responding is a different story though…
Like I said, there is not a view that is not breathtaking. I still cannot believe God decided this was the path He had for me!
My entire squad is asking for prayer for boldness as we declare the gospel to the people of Medellin!
Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support!
P.S. Medellin is pronounced Medejean
