You guys… I’m in Romania!!

This is our second to last official country!

My mind is blown at how “quickly” this year has gone. It’s true that my used to be normal life of home feels like it was years ago, but it also feels like it was just a week ago that I left home.

Anyway, since we have left Ethiopia I thought I would share the ministry we were able to partner with during our stay. This is the second ministry we partnered with, since we started at HopEthiopia for our Parent Vision Trip. I am going to work on my highlights video for that too I promise!

The ministry we partnered with is called Bless the Children, so naturally we thought our ministry would be with children. It turns out during out two weeks there one of the weeks the children were still on Holiday from school. This meant we were doing ministry for the children instead of with them. But, don’t be dismayed there were around 20 pre-teens/ teens who came around to help us so we got some “kid” time!

Our biggest ministry was painting. We painted pretty much every day! We either painted the legs of desks or window frames and bars. The paint we used was “watered” (with gasoline) down so it splashed a little more than normal, I still have some paint on me but it will come off eventually.

We also took turns going on house visits to meet families and pray for their needs. After our first visit we realized we wanted to help the families in physical ways too so several people raised money to buy some groceries and art supplies for the families. The amount of joy on their faces on our distribution day was amazing! I will never forget the face of the last boy we visited when we gave him his new backpack for his first day at a new school. His only prayer request he gave us was for friends, we could tell how nervous he was.

We also partnered one day with the Young Life group in the area, as you saw on my previous vlog.

Even though we were only with the ministry for two weeks it was still not an easy goodbye. Those teens creeped their way into our hearts and so did the families that we may have only seen once. I was reminded of how much God can do in such a short time and I will cherish the ministry of Bless the Children in my heart forever!
