Last Day in the USA!
At 10AM this morning we started our travel to the airport. We are currently waiting to board our first flight to Fort Lauderdale, FL where we will have a 5 hour layover before we board our flight to Medellin, Columbia! We will arrive in the wee hours of the morning to our ministry sight. We will be working with the ministry, Ciudad Refugio. We will find out more about what we will be doing this month once we arrive.:)
The last few days we have been in Atlanta, GA going through some training and now it is time to officially launch into the year! I have been chosen to be a treasurer for my team so the first few days were preparing for this role. I am excited to be this role for my team. My prayer is that I will be a faithful steward as we navigate how to spend it each month.
This first month will be an all squad month where our three teams will be serving together at the same ministry. I am thankful for this for two reasons:
One reason is that each team has a treasurer. With this being All Squad month this gives the treasurers time to work together and learn how to record and report our spending. So thankful for that! Adventure in Missions has been awesome giving us the tools we need to be successful and I have loved seeing how much they care about it being used in the correct way in honoring God and the people who have supported us as we go on this journey.
Second reason I love that it is All Squad month is that we get the opportunity to fellowship as a whole squad and deepen our relationship with one another before our teams are separated into different ministries in the coming months. From the first day at training camp I was able to see how God has lead each of us here to this month, route, and team. We are a calm, peaceful squad. I am excited to see what God is going to do with the different gifts on our team and how He is going to grow us to walk in them.
So here we go! I am off to my first destination. 🙂
