My intention this summer has been to post at least once a month, but that has not happened! This summer is flying by and my time to leave on the Race is fast approaching. So I would like to give everyone a quick update of where I am in preparing to leave Asheville and where I am in my fundraising and preparations for the World Race.
Asheville:
I am currently in the process of putting my house on the market. I had a potential buyer, but God had different plans for that situation and I am now going to work with a realtor to list my home. I had wanted to go through the For Sale by Owner way, but I felt stressed and I realized I was trying to control things instead of letting God do what God is going to do! I am letting go and am trusting Him with the process of selling my home. It has been freeing, and I am excited to see what He is going to do through it.
I am still looking for a new home for my two cats. They are the hardest thing to say goodbye to! I would love to find a home that will take them together. So if anyone is interested in adopting them into your family, please message me!
I am not sure of when I am leaving Asheville now, I originally thought it would be August, but I am not so sure anymore! I am trusting God with the path He has set before me, with all the twists! I keep going back to the story of the people of Israel and the Promised Land. God had the place already prepared for them, but to get there they had many obstacles to go through that seemed impossible, but they just had to trust God and His promise to them. I believe that I am going through the obstacles now, so I am trusting God, believing that He is faithful to His word, even when I can’t see the full picture.
I would appreciate prayers for the selling of my home and finding a new home for my cats! 🙂
World Race and Fundraising:
I have been checking things off of my packing list and that has been feeling pretty good! I am currently experimenting with different ways to back my pack. God knows my love of packing and I am so thankful for the gift of my pack earlier this year! 🙂
In less than a month I will be heading to Gainesville, GA to attend a training camp from August 8th-18th, to prepare me for the Race. I am excited for this because I will be able to meet my team, gain more knowledge of what the months will look like, and hopefully come back with some information about my first month to share with you guys! I know that we will be spending time bonding as a team, but more importantly seeking God and getting to know Him deeper. I am excited to get to know Him more over this whole journey. My hunger is to know Him more intimately, to know His heart, and to just get to know Him more.
After I leave training camp I will have about a month and half before I leave. I am unsure of what that will look like right now, I am trusting God with the steps. My official launch date is October 3. I will be arriving to Atlanta, GA and meeting up with my team. Then the journey begins!
So now to fundraising! God is so faithful in this process and I have been blown away, over and over again. There have been days that people have come up and have given me support, and I have just been in awe of it. When I least expect it, and not feeling worthy of this calling, He is comes and says do not believe those lies. You are mine and you are worth it.
As of right now I have 10,100 in the bank raised!!!! BUT I have a pledge from my church that will come in later this year, and I have some people who are giving monthly (Which if you are interested in partnering with me, you can give through December!) with both of those amounts added to the amount I currently have, it comes close to 14,000!!! How awesome is that?! Our God is so faithful and I am just in awe of how He moves and provides.
By the end of December I need to have 19,200 raised, so roughly I need about 5,000 to complete my goal! I have full faith that God has that coming and in His perfect timing and way.
