HEY! Lets catch up!
I have been very distant lately and because of that I would like to apologize. Each and every one of you have invested into my journey whether it is through financial donations, continued prayer, or wise and thoughtful words. I feel a need to keep you all in the loop on how I am mentally, spiritually, and physically doing, and what my next steps are. This blog post is going to be extremely all over the place as I try to update you all on my crazy crazy life right now and as I try to inform you all on what my next steps are!
FINANCIALLY:
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Wow. Literally you all have no idea how BLESSED I feel by you all! I am currently 100% funded! That is AMAZING! When I first started this journey in September I feared the financial aspect of this trip more than anything else. God has opened up the financial floodgates and I am in AWE. Thank you to everyone who felt compelled to donate! I have really learned a lot about trusting God through this whole fundraising process. I really had to ramp up my prayer life and learn to trust God in the dry spells and praise God in the fruitful seasons. It was a hard and challenging time but it also was one of the best processes I could have ever gone through. God has really laid out such a clear path for me to follow into this next phase of gearing up to leave on the World Race. Thank you all SOOO much again! π
RECOVERY SINCE THE ACCIDENT:
Almost 4 months ago I was in my car accident and even just thinking about that makes my emotions go into 32 different directions. Recovering from that was a crazy process full of tears, fears, worry and pain. Looking back on it I feel so blessed, joyful, loved, and empowered. I have a mindset of positivity and joy that has escalated since the accident. I tell my parents I love them every time I leave the house, i don’t hesitate to tell people how I fell about them, I find myself living in the moment and trying to find joy in every situation more so than before. I have learned to appreciate life a lot more and because of that I feel like my mental state has really grown stronger since my accident because of that. Physically I am about 77.7% fully recovered I would say. God has really allowed me to see him in this entire process and I have really grown a lot through this crazy journey. I honestly can’t wait to see where God will use this story on the World Race! If I could encourage or help just one person through this whole experience that would make this whole experience that much more worth it.
WHAT I AM DOING NOW:
I graduated High School in May and I am currently working at a daycare over the summer to raise money for my spending expenses on the World Race! I gave the commencement speech at my graduation and it was one of the best things have ever done! Ever since I was in kindergarten I have wanted to give a speech at my graduation so it was a really cool experience! I work Tuesdays through Fridays 10-6 and it has been an interesting experience to say the least. I love kids, the flexibility of the job, and the fact that I work with my bestfriend (shout out to Cadalyn Jones)… but I do not enjoy the routine and consistency of the job. A few weeks ago I volunteered at RFKC (Royal Family Kids Camp) and it was amazing. I have always loved that camp and being able to minister to those kids that are broken and confused will always be a highlight of my summer. I pray for and miss those kids every day. I also am slowly but surely gathering supplies for the World Race. I am shopping everyday after I work, googling online, bouncing ideas off my fellow teammates, and going through items in my room. The reality of me leaving in September is getting more and more real and its crazy to think about! ahhhhh.
WHAT I AM DOING NEXT:
On Saturday I leave for Training Camp for the World Race and I will get back on the 16th. A large group of my teammates are going down a week early to celebrate the Fourth of July and to spend some time together before we drive up to Training Camp together on the 5th. I am super excited to meet my teammates, spend some time with them and GO TO TRAINING CAMP!! At TC (Training Camp) I will learn more about what I will be doing on the WR, who I will be with, and a bunch of other things about this upcoming journey! I will have to hike 3 miles in 50 minutes with 50 pounds, tent camp, bucket shower, go through training simulators, have all my gear in one backpack, have mega worship, team bonding activities, spiritual encounters and encouragement, and sooooooo much more! I am so excited, I am BEYOND excited!! T-4 days till I will be in Georgia with my team!! π
THINGS TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR:
I will be blogging more regularly and I am going to start video blogging (vlogging) now too! Be on the lookout for more blogs and new vlogs! I am super excited to start including you into my journey more as I get closer and closer to the World Race! I love you all so much and I really really do appreciate yalls continued support and excitement for me! It means a lot! Keep an eye out for more! π
MISCELANIOUS:
I got two tattoos on Saturday and I will be writing a blog about them very soon explaining the meaning and symbolism behind them! I am starting to get OBSESSED with sorbet. I am chopping my hair off soon … I am letting my teammates cut it at training camp LOL. I am currently obsessing over Rend Collective. I go on night walks a lot now and its been kinda fun. I am running out of things to type.
Okay well this was fun! I have enjoyed this amazing talk with you all! Make sure you subscribe to my blog to get updates on what I am doing now and to get updates while I am on the field!!
