10% = 10 questions
I AM 10% FUNDED! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I am so beyond blessed!! π I never thought this journey would be as crazy and amazing as it is. There are times I feel so uncomfortable and times I feel immensely joy filled. God is working and he is moving in and through so many people already.
I figured since I am at 10%, I would answer 10 questions I am commonly asked!! LETS GO!
1) What are your plans for after the race?
The truthful answer is, I don’t know. I hope to be in a position where I can fully pursue long term missions somewhere but that may not happen. God may call me to college, to stay home, to work for a year, to go on another missions trip, to get married, or anything else. God has a plan for this journey and where it will take me. I trust God’s plans and his timing! I can’t wait for the opportunities after the race! π
2) Are you going to bring a GoPro?
YES! I am going to be videoing and vlogging everything that is appropriate. There will be situations where it is not appropriate to be taking pictures or videotaping so in those situations I will not. I plan on making short videos to keep my supporters and family back home as invested and aware of my adventures as possible! But I don’t want my trip to be solely about making cool videos. This trip is about Jesus and ministering to others in a variety of ways. I want to stay as focused as I can in the missions work, but I also will be making some videos! π
3) Will you miss your friends and family?
Oh my goodness yes!! So so terribly. π
4) What will you do on Holidays?!
I will celebrate with my team! I will be with a small group of people the entire time and I am sure we will find a way to celebrate! I also can FaceTime or Skype home if I have WiFi! It just depends on where I am located at that time.
5) You’re a picky eater…how will you survive?
By God’s grace alone. I am being serious. I have prayed and prayed and prayed. I know that I may feel uncomfortable at some points but by doing this trip I have to be prepared for that! It will be a struggle for sure but I don’t think it will be a huge issue….hopefully!
6) Will you shower? And what if you can’t wash your clothes?
This question makes me laugh a lot. I am by no means a clean freak. I love mud and dirt. I have no problem maybe skipping some days of showering or wearing the same clothes for a few days in a row. I wouldn’t do that in the states, but I have zero issue doing it in a foreign country! I did it all the time in the Dominican and had no issue. My team may smell but we will smell together.
7) Which country are you most excited to visit?
I can honestly say I am PUMPED for all 5. I picked a super diverse and unique route and each country is so so different. Mongolia, China, Malawi, Zambia, and Ecuador all are so different. Each have hardships and each have a unique experience! I am going on this trip with an open mind! π
8) Are your parents supportive?
I am so beyond blessed to have parents that support me as much as they do! There are times where they express genuine saddens and fear, but just as often they express genuine joy and excitement. My parents have always supported me and have always believed in me. They have been helping me come up with cool fundraising ideas and have been so invested in this journey so far with me! I love my parents! π
9) Are you scared?
Not one bit. I am so blessed by this opportunity and it is a total God thing. God put me right where I need to be and he won’t let me fall. He has great plans for me and I trust him with my life and this journey. God is in the driver’s seat, I’m just the passenger along for an amazing ride! π
10) When exactly do you leave?
September 7th or 8th or 9th!! ON MY BIRTHDAY!! I couldn’t be more excited for that!! It will be the best birthday present ever. :)))
