Honor: High respect, great esteem

In todays time, one thing I believe that is lacking is Honor. I’m not sure why we settle for behaviors that can be better, but I’m guilty of that myself. Instead of ignoring the behaviors we need to dig deeper into the problem. To help others first we must be helped ourselves. Too many times I have caughted myself not willing to ask for help because of judgement. It makes sense why we have lost the value of honor because too many individuals don’t value themselves. Too many times we feel undervalued, underqualified, and underestimated. Sad part about this is people are way to good at hiding these things.

I have been listening to a eight part podcast called Planted and not buried by pastor Micheal Todd. I would highly recommend listening to his messages. He talks about when God plants a seed in us we either go through the process and receive the fruit or its too much and we walk away. I always forget that it’s a process, Im usually to impatient to see results.

When you plant a seed, you dig a hole put the seed in and bury it with dirt. You have to water daily and protect it, if you don’t the soon to be tree will never make it to the surface. Same thing when the seed is planted within us. After the seed has been planted, the seed can feel the pressure of the dirt. In that time where there is a lot of pressure is when the devil tries to show up. He puts stuff in your head to get you to leave the situation. Instead of fighting for what God has for us, often we give up and give the glory to the devil. Once again we feel undervalued, underqualified, and underestimated. Sometimes we remain in guilt, shame, and dishonor for far too long, that we don’t know what it feels like to be free from those.

What you learn in the moments of growth is too powerful, where the devil cant even intervene anymore. Imagine planting a seed and it finally grows and gives fruit, not only for yourself but for your friends and family. Soon they have planted their own seeds and going through the process and now your community is full of huge trees with so much to offer to others.

I want to encourage everyone to fight for your tree. Don’t give up. I recently had so much freedom from not giving up that I just want everyone to feel the same way. I refuse to give the devil leverage in my life, I am going to honor God and myself.

I would like to close with a prayer. I pray for everyone that feels like they can not get out of the never ending cycle. God has so much to offer after you get through the process. I pray through the times they feel the pressure of being buried that they feel your peace. When their seed makes its way to the surface there isn’t anything that can stop it from blooming.
