Once upon a time, God called me to be a pharmacist. At first, I was excited about it, then I fought it tooth and nail and it took God alone to get me through it. I was convinced it couldn’t possibly be for me because I was wired so differently than any of my classmates or coworkers. If they were one way, I was the other. If something came easily to them, it was downright impossible for me. But God knew otherwise. He called me to it, got me through it and gave me a job where I learned to truly enjoy it. I thought that was all the confirmation I needed, but He again knew otherwise.

Today my team and I met up with one of our random, God-led connections where we joined a medical team (FCMS) to serve in the community that lives next to the city dump in Panama City. We learned of this opportunity two days ago and the people that organized it knew nothing of my profession. At the site there was a doctor, a dentist, a nutrition team, and people giving away clothing. It just so happens they had two totes of medicine but no one to run the pharmacy. I was the only one today that knew the medications, knew the dosages well, and could get the right thing to the right person.God confirmed in my heart saying, “Yes, you were called for such a time as this, I have been ordering your steps since you were little, and I will continue to do so.” God has kept me practicing Spanish at work in the States by giving me families that don’t speak English, so I was prepared to explain things and talk to people today!

Everything went smoothly, but eventually we ran out of medicine and had to turn people away, but every last person that needed antibiotics or pain medications got what they needed. Praise God!

Today was great, God got me to a place that needed exactly what I have to offer. Its like He planned it or something…
