Did you know there is a man named Ricardo?
Did you know he holds church at his home in David, Panama every Sunday?
Did you know that of the thirty that come to church, only about five are adults?
Did you know he has chosen to place his family in harms way by living in the ‘Red Zone’ to be a light to the people there? The area of David where they reside has many broken homes because a large percentage of the the fathers and husbands are incarcerated. This man, his wife, and their three teenagers have a heart for their community like I have never seen before. Ricardo was a pastor who has lost his job in the last few years but has never stopped pastoring. He must pick up odd jobs and assignments to pay for things, but does it willingly. My team and I had the privilege of going to his home for church one Sunday. This particular Sunday was a day they had chosen to celebrate their pastor and his family. The young people decorated their sanctuary by day, car port by night with streamers and balloons for this celebration. They had placed his family in the front row and began to sing worship songs and do dramas in honor of them. They presented him with plaque and took pictures and played games. Their young faces looked as though they did all they could but that it didn’t compare to their overwhelming gratitude for this man. This ceremony/church service lasted hours, they couldn’t do enough to express what they felt. Without him would they know of Jesus? Would they know of love? Would they have a family that may not be blood, but loves as though they were?
His home doesn’t look like much, his vehicle is in need of repair, he is constantly looking for employment but as we were leaving, it was HE that wanted to pray for US. He lives in a continual attitude of abundance. In that short time we were taken into his family, into his church, and loved like one of his own.
Hey all I would just like to thank each of you that have given! I am now 100% funded! Praise God!
Also we are in Costa Rica now so please be praying for protection, favor, and a blessed time with my team and squad!
