We have been given our latest scheduled itinerary.
We are staying in
Swaziland!
My team and another team from the January group are going to be working in an orphanage here is
Swaziland.
I don’t know much about the orphanage except what I heard the other night… There are approximately 75 children who live there, they get food once a day – maybe, a delivery of food once a month – maybe, and this food is eaten out of one pot.
The missionaries here are hoping to work the staff at the orphanage to feed, clothe, educate and teach them and disciple the children to be Christ followers.
The hope for these children is that they will be Christian leaders for this country.
We have been learning a little more about this beautiful land the last few days.
Swaziland is ravaged by AIDS.
They have the highest HIV rate in the world.
If it continues in this manner the country will no longer exist by 2050.
This land is in great need of the gospel of Jesus Christ and God has called us here and we hope to be a beacon of light in a dark world.
We will be leaving on Monday from the AIM base and heading out to live on or near the orphanage property.
Right now we have been told our living conditions will be tough.
As of now we probably will not have electricity, running water, etc…
We hope to be getting a ride to town once a week so we can access the internet and phones.
So I may be a little slow on the blogs and emails but I know you understand.
Please PRAY for us!
We are entering unknown territory but we walk in the hope that Christ will use us to share the good news with whomever we come in contact with.
Here are some things that are on my heart and it would be great if you would join me in prayer.
·
Safety
·
Team unity
·
Trusting the Lord in all things
·
Satisfaction in Christ alone
·
Peace amidst the change
·
That we will love these children and share Christ with them
When we were discussing this tonight among our team someone brought up that we will be mothers to the motherless.
Please pray that our hands will be gentle, our words sweet and that we will plant and sow seeds in these children that will reap eternal benefits.
Our prayer is that through our ministry here and the ministry that will follow that these children will eventually come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ!
Thank you for your prayers, love and support!
I do not have words to express to you how grateful I am.
Please keep us in prayer and I will update as soon as I can.
Ephesians 5:1-2
Therfore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling aroma.
