Today we had our own infamous “visa run”. Some of our teammates have taken a boat ride to Burma and some have rented a car and taken a day trip to a border (Burma or Cambodia?) not sure which one! Well today we jumped on the bandwagon and took our own visa run. ( just a little background) Our visa for Thailand only lets us stay in the country for 30 days so we had to cross the border to renew our visa. So to obey the law of the land, which we want to do so they will let us reenter and stay in the country, we headed to the border. As being all white females in a foreign country it is wise not to do these things by ourselves so we worked with a company who organized everything and take care of the paperwork.
This morning we plucked ourselves out of bed at 4:30am and showered (because we have them – hey we can shower here and do 2x a day – glory!!) We headed out of the house at 5:30am and prayed for a Songtal because most of the world is asleep.

Me and Allison at 5:30am on the Songtal – we were tired! The team crossing the road in the early AM
Not here in Pattaya – there were stores and bars still open at 5:30am. You learn something new everyday! We were able to catch a Songtal and they took us to the Visa office. Where we had breakfast and filled out paperwork. Yes, breakfast and lunch were included so that was a treat! The van that took us to Cambodia was nice! We had our own seats and not benches, AC and pillows! We were in luxury…
Our driver to Cambodia
The ride was bumpy but we had good seats at least! The ride was 4 hours each way and we spent about 30 minutes at the border waiting for our paperwork to be processed.

Going back to Thailand.
The staff at the border kept telling people “Go back to Thailand!” So we did! We are now back in this beautiful country and we have 2 more weeks of ministry at Tamar Center. More blogs to come and hopefully some videos!
