I love this new team. There’s no obligation to be together, we want to be. It’s a safe space. A place to be real and vulnerable. A place where we can ask hard questions and give honest answers.

I’m reading Wrecked by Jeff Goins and this quote reminded me of them:

“We will seek first the needs of others and trust that our own will be provided.
We will discipline ourselves to believe.
We will find our lives by losing it.
We will seek the pearl of great price and sacrifice everything for it.
We will become less to gain more.”

The parable of the hidden treasure and the pearl is in Matthew 13:44-46. It talks about a merchant that was searching for treasure hidden in a field. Once he finds it he sells everything and bought the field.

Once the merchant found the pearls or treasure he stopped searching. The pearls representing Jesus and the salvation He offers, once salvation and the love of God is found, further searching isn’t necessary. The “great price” was paid by Christ for redemption, He emptied Himself of His glory, shed his blood and paid the price for all of our sins.

Christ fulfills our greatest needs, satisfies our longings, makes us whole and clean before our heart, and gives us hope for the future. These girls remind me of that through how we interact with each other and how we carry ourselves as a team.
