Before the race I didn’t read books very much, I always got bored and they always made me want to go to sleep… but since being on the race I’ve read 5 books (praise the lamb)!! One of them I’m going to tell you about.
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
I read this book in 2 weeks, my personal record for 34 chapters.
Ladies. I recommend to any female reading this blog, read the book. You’ll get hooked from the start. You’ll learn a lot about yourself and get a picture of how God works through true grace and true love.
Men. I recommend that you read it as well, it shows a good representation of who a man of God is and it’ll shed a little light on how a woman’s mind works after being through heartbreak and abuse. I know personally I could relate a lot to the thoughts the woman had in the book.
A book that taught me about how unending the Lords love for us is. How patient the Lord is in waiting until WE are ready to let him in. How much the Lord wants to know about you, even the deep dark things. How gentle his love is. How redemption is for everyone and anyone. You need to forgive people more than you want to. There are walls you put up that the Lord needs to bring you through, whether that be digging under, climbing over, going around or going through. The Lord will always pursue you, he will never give up on you. Have a faith of your own, God wants his relationship with you to be unique and special. Own your past but learn to share it with people and live past it. Trust in Jesus, trust him with the deep pains in your heart, trust him with the anger towards people, trust him with the sadness they have caused you. You can gain freedom from your past and freedom from pain in your life.
Jesus came to give us life in freedom but many of us are afraid to step into it. Once you give the Lord your brokenness you will gain freedom over it.
In Jesus you can find TRUE GRACE
TRUE GRACE: has the power to heal, the power to overcome, it’s an undeserved blessing, undeserved favor, it empowers you, gives you the desire to do the will of God and the ability to do it.
“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.” -Ephesians 1:4-10
