Before coming to this place we had to do our research, we weren’t about to support an organization that abuses elephants (which if you are looking for a cheap option you’ll most likely see the sad truth in elephant abuse).. After hours of research and the help of our hostel, The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary was the best place to go.
We got to feed the elephants, embrace the mud with them and go for a dip in the river. It was an all day event for $70 and it was worth EVERY PENNY.
Here are some highlights:
First we got to feed the elephants Bananas and corn, and obviously take pics. (ps: I learned that elephants are pregnant for 2 YEARS.. this babe is 50 and pregnant with her 4th)
THEN we got to feed the elephant these “energy balls” … kinda scary
THEN it was Mud Bath time.. which our team had a lot of fun with
Wash time
After hours of elephant fun, it was time for us to go home.. the two plus hour ride in the back of a truck.. but like I said in the beginning, best $70 I’ve spent on the race. SO DO IT.
