Dear mom

Thank you for being you.

Thank you for giving me a safe home to grow up in… and eventually a home to move back into.

Thank you for being my number one fan at every cross country and track meet.

Thank you for showing me it’s okay to be weird.

Thank you for showing how to love people well.

Thank you for always encouraging me to chase my dreams.

Thank you for always saying the right things when I think my world is ending.

Thank you for being there to answer the phone everyday when I lived far away.

Thanks for showing me at a young age (though I didn’t know it yet) Thrift shops are the best places to shop at.

Thanks for teaching me there more to learn outside of the small town I grew up in.

Thank you for being an incredible cook, I miss it a lot on the race and it’s made it into quite the food snob… just prepare to cook for any one of my teammates when they come visit in Oregon.

Thanks for being hip in what you wear/how you do your hair.

Thanks for teaching me that I could always use another pair of shoes.

Thanks for being silly and filling my life with laughter.

Thanks for always loosing your keys growing up because I do the same thing now.

I wish I could be there this year to watch you and dad struggle out there gardening, notice I said watch because I can’t remember if I ever help.. maybe one year.

I love you.

See you in 5 months in Swazi!!
