Hey Friends!!

My name is Courtney, I love Jesus, cats, chicken nuggets, pizza rolls and ice cream. I’m originally from the Midwest, Cleveland, Ohio to be exact. I moved out to Oregon last year after a medical internship with Young Life and since I have been pursuing life in the PNW. I gave up the hectic and busy city life for a more outdoorsy, peaceful lifestyle with Jesus. In Cleveland I was pursuing a Nursing degree so when I moved out here I got my Nurses Assistant License and started working at a Rehab facility while researching nursing schools to apply to in Oregon.

Once I didn’t get into the only program I applied to (needed a 2.8GPA with Math and Science and I had a 2.79 … I KNOW RIGHT) I really started to wonder if Nursing was my calling. I had a nice long talk with God (sobbing) asking what the heck I should do now then I saw one of my friends post about the world race and I was like hmm.. that’s something I have always wanted to do but it was impossible with nursing school. Maybe this is God telling me to come away with Him, to see the world through His eyes. So I applied and HERE I AM. Giving Jesus control of my life has been quite a journey but I don’t regret a second of it because in Him I’m made new, I’m His victory in everything, I’m the prize He won. Jesus is my hope and my light and love in life, without Him I’m nothing.

“God does not change, but He uses change — to change us. He sends us on journeys that bring us to the end of ourselves. We often feel out of control, yet if we embrace His leading, we may find ourselves on the ride of out lives.” -Jen Hatmaker
