So our ministry for a couple of weeks has been looking a little different. We are not doing the typical loving on orphans or putting on a vacation bible school for kids. Rather, our ministry is working on a farm cleaning out pig pens and chicken coops. Part of our ministry includes scooping old poop out of the way in order to disinfect the room. It’s hard manual labor and it was not the first thing I thought I would be doing when I singed up for the World Race. I thought of lots of different cool countries, beautiful nature, and lots of orphans. This kind of ministry and work isn’t my favorite, but I’m not doing this for me. That is a tough pill to swallow but the sooner I realize that, the sooner I can truly glorify God through my worship. You see, most of the time I think of worship as a thing on Sunday mornings that the really holy christians put their arms in the air during a few songs. However, I could not be more wrong. True worship does not happened to a nice melody and a couple of guitars playing. Worship is in the everyday, the good, the bad, the ugly responses to situations. It’s about how I am living day to day and how I can be a vessel to help further the kingdom. I want to live in a posture of worship from now till I die. We all have the opportunity to be a part of something much bigger than ourselves, and we will not accomplish that if we live for ourselves. I don’t need to be across the world to glorify the Lord, but I am here, and even in the pig poop, I will worship our creator with my actions and hard work. There will be many times that I fail, but He still meets us where we are and extends more grace and love than anyone could ever deserve. So I want to challenge you and myself to live a life of beautiful worship and find the small seemingly insignificant things everyday to worship our Lord through.
