There is something beautiful about simplicity. I just can’t get over how great it feels to know exactly what I do and don’t have.
I am not much of a packrat to begin with but over the past few years if there was any packrat tendency about me, it has definitely been eliminated. Over the past four years, between college and moving away from home after graduation, I have moved about 4 times. Now, I am helping my mom pack up our home which we have lived in over the past 13 years and it has brought me so much joy to throw away junk, find what we want to sell, and store what we want to keep. I have discovered that we want to sell or donate is a greater pile than what we want to keep!!!
Why does such a silly thing excite me? Because the life of simplicity is so much fun!!! That is why the fact that I will be living out of a backpack for a whole year brings me so much joy.
Aside from pictures, there’s really only a small amount of materials that I really need. All else is just a distraction or will only be around for a few years anyway.
Anyway, there is not much depth to this blog. I just wanted to say that livnig simply is fun and I am enjoying it!!
