Throughout
ministry in Thailand, we went to multiple Christmas parties! We would basically
sing songs to them in Thai, act out some skits and share some testimonies.

This party in
particular, we drove 4 ½ hours to get to. It was an outside Christmas party and
was taking place at night time. As we arrived and people started showing up,
the rain clouds started rolling in.

Uh oh, we
thought! If it rains…she show can’t go on. A band had already set up on stage,
they were giving out food buffet style, the video wouldn’t be able to be played
on the protector. This could be a disaster. We all prayed that the rain
wouldn’t come. But, oddly enough, the big drops falling on my head here and
there were telling me something different :-p

It began to
rain…then it began to pour!!! Everyone scattered under trees and into their
homes. The crowd that once was about 150 began to dwindle.

Think fast…think
fast…think fast!

One of the girls
on my our team began to sing some Thai Christmas songs. We all joined in.
Before we knew it, the Christmas songs were drawing people back in. We realized
we could get their attention, so we kept singing at the top of our longs in the
pouring rain.

It felt like a
scene from a movie! We were all drenched and without a care in the world. Unity
amongst the people there was so strong and there was a peace that was flowing
amongst us all.

Jenny stepped up
and began to preach in the middle of the crowd. No longer was she using the
stage of microphone. This meant people had to gather in even closer to hear her
voice. She was yelling at the top of her lungs a story about God’s redemption and
our translator was yelling even louder in Thai! Before we knew it, Jenny was
asking if anyone wanted to give their lives to Jesus and guess what!?

THEY DID!!!!!!!

There was about
20 people, children to adults that wanted to give their lives to Jesus. At this
point, people had pulled out tarps and umbrellas to cover at least the people
who were getting prayed for. I found a giant leaf and balanced that on my head
😀

That night was
so special and ordained. Twenty people gave their lives to the Lord in the most
unconventional way and it was BREATH TAKING!! We handed them Bibles (a little
water-worn with love) and explained to them what it means to worship ONLY Jesus
and no other gods or idols.

Praise the Lord
for these lives!!!

Oh yeah…we proceeded to do our skit too. The rain let up
eventually and we worshipped and danced. Great way to end the night! It doesn’t
matter the circumstance. God can always make himself known!
