I found a heartbeat of mine I have been missing for a while….it’s called AFRICA!!!!
My first and only time in Africa was also my first time going overseas. It was in 2005 when I was 17 years old. From the moment my feet landed on the dirt ground, I fell in love with it. I love the raw culture and how there seems to be bass in everything. I guess I am not all too sure how to describe it but I will go with this….
When I hear songs with deep bass in it, I come alive!!! Anything with out base puts me to sleep. But, when the bass kicks in my body starts dancing before I am even aware I am doing it. That is Africa to me.
I dance without realizing I am doing it. The people here are absolutely gorgeous and full of so many hidden stories I am desiring to hear. The smell of Africa is not so pleasant but I love it because it is reality. They don’t try to hide their stench, they embrace it.
This month I will be working in Nairobi, Kenya in the biggest slum area. All I can say is I am ready to feel the bass and get into the African culture.
I am alive!!! Give me authenticity no matter what the outcome and my heart will come alive!!!
Yes and Amen To You God!!!
