The other day we got to help out at the Mother Theresa Home. I have never done anything like this before and I felt very blessed to just love on the people there. The home is for disabled women. Half of them couldn’t get themselves out of bed, others were in wheelchairs. Most were physically disabled and others were both physically and mentally disabled. I got to feed one lady while she was laying down on the bed. I was afraid she would choke being fed while laying down but she did really well! I was quite impressed. She would joke around with me while I was feeding her. I would go to give her food and she would pucker up her lips and refuse to let me feed her. I would ask if she was all done and would pull away and then she would open her mouth as wide as possible and lunge toward me with a smile. Afterward she would just laugh at me! It was so great! Another lady I got to hang out with was so precious. She didn’t speak so I just gave her hand massages the whole time. It was wonderful being able to just love on them. It’s not that it wasn’t hard to see them, but it was more a joy because we got to spend time loving on each other. I was grateful for that.

Unfortunately, the other day a propane tank exploded in one of the houses in the slum village. In the fire one family lost a 3 week old baby to the explosion and 100 people lost their houses. It was so unfortunate but it has been wonderful to see the Church I am partnering with come to their side and help them. We have been able to pass out clothes and encourage them. The next day they already started rebuilding. Wow! Praise God that people came together and helped each other out. Disasters are bound to happen but we get to decide how we respond to them…

Inside the slum community.
One of the main roads by where we are living. There are many shops set up on the street. I love seeing all of the produce stands. This picture doesn’t show it but there are many!
Hope you enjoyed a few pictures! Thank you all who are following and praying! Love you all!
